In lieu of a podcast, watch my 2 night investigation at the Cecil Hotel! See inside the Cecil, our experiences with the elevator, and the evidence we captured! Due to formatting issues it starts out a little shaky, but it works itself out quickly. I’m currently writing an in depth book on this case, investigation, and my theory….”Specter Speculation”. Hope you find this as compelling as I do! nicks book

After a 3 month hiatus I return with Nick Redfern as we talk about his latest book, BLOODLINE OF THE GODS, which covers the RH negative blood factor and what it means to have this rare blood type. He presents a compelling theory with ties to the Anunnaki, the Bible and other religious texts, alien abductions and the RH negative bloodline. One of my favorite interviews to date! This years Crypticon blew last years out of the water! Amazing line up, still stunned from all the awesome celebs I got to meet yesterday! Started off with goosebumps meeting my favorite character from the Devils Rejects, John Quincy Wydell (William Forsythe)! Look how cheesy I am! (NOTE: Michael Berryman is just to the right of Williams elbow)

me & William Forsythe

Then met Ken Foree (Dawn of the Dead, Devils Rejects, Lords of Salem), didn’t get a pic with him, but I told him I’d see him at the Devils Rejects panel & he said he’d look for me. At the panel he saw me in in the crowd & gave me the nod ~ AWESOME! Next was Bill Moseley (Devils Rejects, House of 1000 Corpses, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2), here’s me, my hubby & Bill. He was awesome to talk with, & he confirmed my suspicion that he ad-libbed a particular line in Devils Rejects.

Bill Moseley

Next was Caroline Williams, who played Stretch in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. She was so cool, & made me an official “final female”, what a fantastic compliment!

It just keeps getting better! Next we met Sid Haig (Devils Rejects, House of 1000 Corpses). He was also super cool to chat with, I’ll never forget this moment:

Sid Haig20150523_133541

Lastly, we met Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes, Devils Rejects), didn’t get a pic with him either (bummer). He is SUPER funny!! I got autographed 8 x 10’s from all of these actors though, getting them framed tomorrow!

Next was the Devils Rejects panel. Heard great behind the scenes stories! It was a riot!

DR panel 2DR panel 1

Lastly, ran into Christine….actually, she ran into us!

Christine 2

It’s the actual car from the movie. Pretty F-in cool! Was a fantastic time meeting some of my favorite actors & seeing how laid back & cool they were! I had such a good time

The day started at 11am with a Psychic Test & Training with Neil McNeill. Turns out I’m not very psychic, but Neil was AWESOME! Special thanks to Neil for taking some time to spend with me at the end of the day to teach me some grounding techniques! Here we are:

Also spent a lot of time with the president of WSPIR, Darren Thompson, who was fascinating & funny, had a great time with these folks, as you can see:

Checked out the vendor booths, ran in to some monsters…..

Then, the highlight of the day!!!! Met Patrick Doyle from “Ghost Mine”, & got an autographed copy of his book. So cool to meet him, very down to earth & funny!!! I went a little fanatic, couldn’t help it!!! I LOVED “Ghost Mine”!!! Can’t believe it was cancelled!

Walking through the vendors we came across MMA cage fighter, Nathan “Rock” Quarry, promoting his new comic series, “Zombie Cage Fighter”! Was SO intrigued by his story (& the fact I was standing 3 feet away from a MMA fighter!) I failed to get a pic, but I got an autographed copy of his comic, this dude was KILLER! His story is very inspiring!!! Also spoke Zach Galligan from “Gremlins”, sporting a Seahawks sweatshirt, no less! Cool dude! Now for the crazy part! C. Thomas Howell was on the line up, & I saw a sign with his name. As I approached the table I thought, “he’s aged kinda weird”…threw up my hand to give this man a high 5 & loudly said “C. Thomas Howell!!!!” to which the man replied, “No….”. I said “you’re lying” & he said “No…”, turned out it was Eric Roberts I was talking to, & Howells table was next to his but he had stepped away. I was SO embarrassed I told my husband there was no way I was going to get to see Howell now as I couldn’t face Eric Roberts again after that mistake! We decided to get lunch, I’m in line & I turn around & guess who is standing RIGHT behind me?!? C. THOMAS HOWELL!!!!!! I recognized him immediately! It was SO awesome! I told him about what I’d said to Eric Roberts, & he said, “Bless you….”. He was on break, so I didn’t get a pic, but we did catch Roy from “Face Off” getting some grub:

We spoke with Roy at his table, told us about when he worked on Halloween II with Rob Zombie how odd it was to see Rob walking his wife’s chihuaha! Ran in to Cleve Hall outside smoking:

We ended the day with owner of “Spooked in Seattle”, Ross Allison, who gave a terrific presentation on death practices. Putting us on the road home at 7:30 pm! It was one of the best days of my life! I had SO much fun!!!! Here’s me & Ross:

I’ve requested interviews with everyone I took pics with, & Nathan “Rock” Quarry, so keep your eyes peeled on my page! I also created a tab above for all the pics of the hearses that were there from Anubis Hearse Society, be sure to check it out! I truly had a great time & met some really wonderful people! Hopefully the interviews will get scheduled so y’all can see what I mean!!!!

We went up to Lake View Cemetery to get pics & grave etchings of the 2 graves. We got there about 11am, trying to beat the rain & just minutes after we arrived a parade of people arrived behind us! There was about a dozen people there waiting, so we snapped some quick shots & I wondered around the graveyard taking pic’s while waiting for them to disperse. And that’s when my battery died on my camera! UGH! So we didn’t get the grave rubbing accomplished & I only got a couple shots of the graves. We are going back in a few weeks on a weekday & I’ll post part 2 then, but for now, here’s what I got:

for rent 2

Last week my hubby & I went on the walking ghost tour & it was FANTASTIC!!!! My favorite stop was at the Mutual Life Building where we were told of a Japanese performance that went deadly on Sept. 10, 1983. As the tour guide showed us a You Tube video of the incident I realized I was standing exactly were the man had died, here’s a link so you can see for yourself, the Sankai Juku Dance Company was performing “Anokoku-Buyuo” (Dance of Darkness), which is a metaphor for life & death. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DysQiQG0_iw

Check out the “Photo Galley” tab above to see the rest of my pics, I highly recommend this tour, it was SO much fun! I got to meet the owner at the end of the night & got an autographed copy of his book! I will be going back there soon, & hope to have our guide on as a guest for an upcoming podcast.

Listen to Joshua’s review of our interview (all though I recommend you listen to all 3 hours by going to www.speakingofstrange.com) , thanks JPW for the wonderful compliments! I included his bumper music as it’s a pretty bad ass song! Just click the “Podcast Episodes” tab at top of the page to hear, only 5 minutes long

In the movie “The Conjuring” they went with a much different look for Annabelle, to amp up the creepy factor, I reckon. The real Annabelle is shown with Lorrain Warren on the left, a harmless, familiar Raggedy Ann doll, which I personally find creepier as she’s such an innocent figure. To learn the real Annabelle story, click this link: http://www.warrens.net/Annabelle.html

My husbands band recently played a gig at the Mirkwood Shire Café in Arlington, WA (about 45 minutes away from Seattle). On our way out there he mentioned to me that it used to be a church……a WHAT? Being a spiritual person I was a little turned off by a church being turned in to a bar and tattoo shop (I have ink, no hate mail please), but it turned out to be a pretty cool venue!!! Here’s pic’s of the interior and pews from the church being used as bar seating….

Naturally we pulled out our cells and started researching the history of the building, this is what we found in the quick search:

In 2004, owners Anthony andHeather Beck began the project of renovating the 110 year old prior Methodist Church on Division St. in downtown Arlington, now known by many  as the Alamo Building. This historic building had been totally neglected and abandoned for more than 12 years, having last been occupied by a Boys and Girls Club. The
project lasted for over a year, and after much labor, sweat and setbacks the
“hellamo”, as Anthony affectionately referred to this  huge endeavor, emerged.
Now this magnificent building houses a restaurant & bar, a large area for music, entertainment & gatherings, tattoo & piercing parlor, beauty salon, and Magic “The Gathering” store. The “Alamo” building is once again alive. A place of past memories for many andnow open to make more for the future. (source: mirkwoodshirecafe.com)

“Hellamo”, 110 year old church that stood abandoned for 12 years before becoming the Mirkwood……getting much more intriguing…..and then the band told us about the basement. There is a huge, unused basement, they used to do 2 shows at a time, one on each floor, but for whatever reason the basement is now abandoned. I snuck down and took some pics. There was a bookshelf with a menagerie of titles, but I saw a binding with no title at all. I pulled it from the shelf, it was a journal full of empty pages, except at the front cover there were two sheets of paper folded inside. I have also enclosed photos of the papers so you can read them. I have much research and investigating to do in the following weeks, and I will keep you posted every step of the way….not sure what to think at this point. Thoughts?

freddy krueger glove & hat

During my podcast interview with Jim Harold we briefly discussed the possibility that Freddy IS real, & potentially the inspiration for Wes Craven to create this character. I’ve done some research, & this is what I discovered: Wes Craven first came up with the basic idea for the movie from several newspaper articles printed in the LA Times over a three year period about a group of Cambodian refugees from the Hmong tribe, several of whom died in the throes of horrific nightmares. The group had come to America to escape the reign of Pol Pot, and within a year of arriving, three men had died, with the situation the same in each cases; the young, otherwise healthy, man would have a nightmare, then refuse to sleep for as long as possible. Upon finally falling asleep from exhaustion, the man awoke screaming, then died. Autopsy results revealed that they had not died because of heart failure, they had simply died. It was this lack of cause which intrigued Craven so much. Medical authorities have since called the phenomenon Asian Death Syndrome, a variant of Sudden Unexpected Death Syndrome (SUDS) and Brugada Syndrome. The inspiration for the character of Freddy came from several sources in Wes Craven‘s childhood. Fred Krueger was a schoolmate of Craven with whom he had shared a paper route, and who had bullied him for several years. In The Last House on the Left, Craven also used this experience as inspiration, calling the villain Krug. Freddy’s appearance (especially the dirty clothes and hat) was inspired by a hobo who Craven saw staring at him through his window one day when he was ten. (source: IMDB) So we have to ask ourselves (since we can’t ask the victims of this “syndrome”), is Freddy Kruger & SUDS one in the same? It’s certainly possible…..isn’t it? Sweet dreams paraholics!!!

I was lucky enough to see the premier of the “Dead Files Revisited” that featured The Merchants Café AT The Merchants Café! Me being their 666th “like” on Facebook the day the Priest came to bless the restaurant made it even more exciting (a story for a future podcast)!!! We scored a great table in the basement, where the “crab creatures” (paraphrasing) are said to be located, and where most of the activity occurs. Darcy (the owner) was sitting just feet from us watching the episode. We were all disappointed in how short their segment was, but over all it was a kick ass time! For those of you haven’t seen either the first “Dead Files” that featured the Merchants, or the “Revisited” episode (or any episode of the Dead Files) I highly recommend you check it out, Amy Allen and Steve Di Schiavi are pretty impressive! I do have to say that the staircase people have reported being pushed down is VERY crooked, almost every step is uneven in all directions, not only creating the “funhouse effect”, but just a down right hazard. I’ve recently discovered a local tour company that has night investigations at the Merchants Café, and I shall report my findings once I get the opportunity to investigate! In the meantime, here’s a link to the “Revisited” episode, (as of 9/4/13) if you click “Last Episode”, Dead Files Revisited you can watch it! http://www.travelchannel.com/tv-shows/the-dead-files

You’re latest blog post mentions trouble hearing your guests’ voice. Perhaps this is a result of attempting to fix previous podcasts, but when I listen to a podcast (I tried episodes 22 and 23) I can hear the guest loud and clean, but nothing but silence when you are apparently speaking. It case it helps, I was attempting to stream them straight off of your website on my PC.

Hope you work the kinks out. Best of luck.
